Tottenham Hotspur are through to the semifinals of the UEFA Champions League for the first time in history after edging Manchester City out on away goal rule.

Spurs scored three goals at the Etihad Stadium after winning the first leg 1-0 at their new stadium to go through 4-4 on aggregate.

Two goals from Raheem Sterling and one each from Sergio Aguero and Bernando Silva were not enough to stop the Citizens from crashing out of the tourney at the quarterfinal stage for the second time on a bounce.

Heung-Min Son continued from where he stopped last week as he scored twice before Fernando Llorente scored the final goal that saw them through to the next round.

They will now face Dutch League side Ajax in one of the semifinal matches later this month while the other match will be between Barcelona and Liverpool
