Corruption: If you have any evidence against me, go to EFCC - Atiku

- Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has urged those accusing him of corruption to take their case to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)

- The presidential candidate however called for stronger laws and processes in the fight against corruption

Former vice president Atiku Abubakar has dismissed corruption allegations leveled against him. Atiku who is also the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) challenged those that have accused him of corruption.

The former vice president asked his accusers to make their case known before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) if they are sure of it.

Atiku disclosed this in an interview with the Voice of America’s correspondent Aliyu Mustapha, Channels TV reports.

“I have challenged everybody publicly or otherwise, that if you have any evidence of corruption against me while I was in public office or as a politician, feel free to go to EFCC or the court, but nobody has come,” Atiku was quoted to have said.

On corruption war, the PDP candidate said that stronger laws and processes are needed to try those accused of corruption.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that a state governor of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) warned that his party might lose the 2019 presidential election if it does not address some issues drawing back its campaign for the poll.

The governor, who asked not to be named said that preparations of the PDP for the presidential election is riddled with deep frustrations.
