Woman alleged to have jumped into Lagos lagoon refutes rumours

Legit.ng earlier shared details of a US-based Nigerian lady named Toyin who took her own life by jumping into the lagoon. The news of the deceased spread like wild fire especially after a supposed friend of hers revealed shocking details concerning the events which led to her death.

On June 12, things took another shape when the supposedly dead lady spoke up, refuting the rumours and confirming that she is alive and well. Identified on social media as TKfashion-dallas-tx, Toyin shared photos of herself and revealed she is indeed alive.

In an interview with Daily Trust, she spoke up about the events surrounding her alleged death in which she clarified that all was well with herself and her husband. Witnesses had claimed that she got down from a SUV Ford car before diving recklessly into the lagoon, in her defense, she revealed that her husband who was driving the car, stopped to help someone.

To buttress her point, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) also dismissed all speculations over the incident. Speaking on behalf of the organisation, LASEMA General Manager, Adesina Tiamiyu said: "For the avoidance of doubt, the Agency officials is in touch with the owner of the SUV whose registration is been circulated, who only stopped by to offer assistance."

Prior to the revelation, Toyin had shared photos on her social media page and proclaimed she's is alive and well and plans to spend many more years on earth.

The post which left many stunned appeared frivolous and social media users, through comments asked her to share new photos of herself to prove she's truly alive. She responded asking them to wait as she would post more photos.

Meanwhile, a friend of the rumoured dead lady had earlier claimed she took her life after she got swindled by an older lover of a whooping sum of N10 million. It turns out, all that might have been bogus.

It is being advised that the video circulating on her death be disregarded.
