A social media user has told a hijab-wearing footballer that she has no business playing the game of football professionally.
Algerian midfielder Lina Boussaha has held onto her faith and beliefs as she covers her hair in scarves while competing.
She was criticised by a fan, who reached out on social media, suggesting that playing football as a Muslim could be against her faith.

Lina, who had represented the French Women's national team at the youth level, switched allegiance to play for Algeria in 2023.
After three seasons at Saudi club Al-Nassr Women, the PSG Women academy graduate signed a deal with Al-Ittihad, where she joined Nigerian star Ashleigh Plumptre.
The Super Falcons star was quick to leap to her defence when she was criticised online. ahmadazizofficial wrote on Instagram:
"Lady, we are 100% sure your place is in the kitchen, not football pitch."
Plumptre responded:
"Actually, Lina is an incredible baker."
She then responded:
"Exactly, we cook in the kitchen and on the field."
Lina Boussaha was on the verge of giving up on her professional football career after France Football Federation banned Muslim women from wearing scarves while competing.
Her situation became worse as she was unable to secure a move from PSG due to a nagging injury.
She had played for the French Women's youth teams, and after winning the French Cup with PSG at 19, Lina realised she no longer had a place on the football pitch in her home country.
However, as she considered her retirement, her agent reached out to say that Saudi outfit Al-Nassr were interested in her services.

The playmaker was in Qatar at the time, attending World Cup matches and enjoying a break. She told National News:
"I didn’t have any information about the league, about the country. It was my first time in this country,” Boussaha told The National over a Zoom this week.
"I tried to find information on social media, on Google, nothing. I just said to my agent, ‘OK, I have an opportunity to go and play with my hijab. I will check and we will see.' So I came and I discovered a new country, new culture, new tradition, new football.”
"I'm very happy because it’s a Muslim country, I can play with my hijab. I’m coming back from a big injury, so I take pleasure again to play football."
