JAMB postpones release of 2019 UTME results

- The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) says it will not release UTME results on Monday, April 29

- JAMB's Fabian Benjamin refuses to mention a specific date for the release of the results

- The examination body says it will conclude screening first before releasing the results

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) on Monday, April 29, explained that it would not release the results of the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) as earlier thought.

The examination body said the results would now be released within the week.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that JAMB’s head of media and publicity, Fabian Benjamin, said this in Abuja insisting that the results would be officially released ‘anytime’ within the week.

According to him, the delay was because the board had not concluded the process of the exercise.

“We will not release it today, Monday (April 29) and will not release it tomorrow, Tuesday (April 30).

“What we said was anytime within this week. By implication, we are concluding the screening exercise this week and results can be released anytime within the week,” he said.

Benjamin had earlier said that the 2019 UTME results would be ready anytime from Monday, April 29, after a rigorous process.

It was learnt that the board had earlier stated that it would only release the 2019 UTME results after undergoing thorough screening to identify and apprehend examination cheats.

Legit.ng earlier reported how JAMB warned its 2019 UTME candidates awaiting their results against fraudsters who deploy various methods to dupe them.

The JAMB board disclosed this in its Vol. 1, No 17 weekly Bulletin of the Office of the Registrar which was made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday, April 28 in Abuja.
