Just In: Arewa Consultative Forum endorses President Buhari for re-election
- President Muhammadu Buhari has been endorsed for re-election by the Arewa Consultative Forum
- According to the group, Buhari deserves to be re-elected for his contributions to economic and infrastructural development and combating insurgency
- Politicians and their supporters have been advised to avoid all forms of violence, before, during and after elections
The Arewa Consultative Forum has endorsed President Buhari for re-election four days to the presidential election.
According to Daily Trust, Alhaji Musa Usman Kwande who is the acting chairman of the national executive committee of the group said they were aware two prominent northerners were contesting for presidency.
He said they checked their track record and achievement before making a decision.

The group noted the progress made in the fight against insurgency in the Buhari administration.
He said: “Consequent upon the contributions of the incumbent government to the economic and infrastructural development and the government’s achievement in combating insurgency and other insecurity problems bedevilling the country, ACF believes President Muhammadu Buhari deserves a second term."
The ACF called on politicians and their supporters to avoid all forms of violence, before, during and after elections.
Meanwhile, a lawmaker of the Second Republic, Junaid Mohammed, on Tuesday, February 12, advised President Buhari against his plan to contest in the 2019 presidential election.
Mohammed pleaded with the president to take a bow, exit from governance and return home to take care of his troubling health. The former lawmaker said such action from President Buhari would save Nigeria from woes suffered from his inability to hold the country's affairs together.
