Yusuf Buhari is not dead - Presidency insists

The presidency has dismissed an unverified report claiming that Yusuf Buhari who had a motorcycle accident is dead.

The special assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on social media, Lauretta Onochie, who reacted to the rumour in a tweet on Wednesday, February 21, described the report as fake news.

Legit.ng investigation showed that the report started from a fake AIT Facebook page.

Legit.ng had earlier reported Yusuf Buhari was discharged from Cedarcrest hospital on Friday, January 12, after undergoing treatment for a motorcycle accident.

The hospital said Yusuf was placed in its intensive care unit after an initial stabilization following injuries sustained as a rider in a motorcycle accident.

The hospital added that Yusuf's condition remarkably improved after a surgery was carried out by a team of neurosurgeons and orthopedic surgeons before he was transferred from the ICU to the ward.
