3 children reportedly tortured by churches rescued in Akwa Ibom (photos)

Three children have been rescued by a child protection charity organisation after they were allegedly tortured by churches in Akwa Ibom state.

According to the organisation, two of the children were in different churches where they were allegedly tortured by people who claimed to deliver them from evil.

The organization explained that the two children were later thrown out into the street from the church.

It was gathered that the two children were seen with scars and burns on their bodies due torture.

In a post shared by the organization on Facebook, the only girl among the children that were rescued said she ran away from a group of children after a man came to take them.

The organization further urged the government to do something about churches who torture children while claiming that they are performing exorcism.
