Governor Uzodinma Names Road After President Muhammadu Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has virtually commissioned two roads in Owerri, the Imo state capital, completed within the first year in office of Governor Hope Uzodinma.

A presidential aide, Basir Ahmed, disclosed that the projects were commissioned virtually on Tuesday, March 16.

He said one of the roads, a 5km dual carriage Federal Secretariat-World Bank Road was renamed Muhammadu Buhari Road by the state government.

The Nation reported that the president at the virtual ceremony commended the Imo state governor, for his devotion to the welfare of the people of the state through the provision of quality infrastructure.

Buhari said:

”I am glad to learn that significant strides are being made towards their completion, and a number of them are amongst those being commissioned as part of the events in honour of the one-year anniversary.
”I must commend the state government, under the leadership of Sen. Hope Uzodinma, for setting ambitious targets and within just one year in the office using this moment to evaluate the journey thus far.

He urged the governor to sustain the momentum and accelerate the pace of good governance in the state.

In another report, Hope Uzodinma has said he is not behind the recent arrest and detention of Senator Rochas Okorocha.

The governor said the recent arrest of the former governor was connected to investigations that were commenced by the past administration of Emeka Ihedioha.

The Imo state governor made the statement on Tuesday, February 23, when he addressed the press during his visit to President Buhari.

Meanwhile, Senator Rochas Okorocha has held a political meeting with a former president, Olusegun Obasanjo in Ogun state.

The former Imo state governor made this known on Monday, March 15, via a tweet on his official Twitter page.

Okorocha said it was important to consult the elder statesman with the aim of advancing the nation.
