Arsenal players are set to lose 25 per cent of their wages if they fail to stay up in the English topflight division, Daily Mail.

The Gunners are currently 15th on the log after managing one win in their last ten Premier League matches this season.

And if the north London club drop out of the top division, players would have to accept a pay cut to compete in the Championships next season.

Mikel's Arteta's reason for axing Arsenal star Mesut Ozil from his squad finally revealed

Due to the financial crisis currently rocking the world's economy because of the global pandemic, players' contracts have been pegged with pay-cut clauses.

Arsenal pays the likes of Mesut Ozil, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and the rest of the players more than £150million annually.

The Gunner are four points above the relegation zone following their 2-1 loss to everyone at Goodison Park.

Arteta's men have only managed to earn just two points from their last seven matches and the possibility of staying at the top is getting slimmer.
