  • Bonke who was in action for Malmo during their 4-0 loss to Chelsea, branded the French superstar as a ‘V6 Engine’

Nigerian midfielder Innocent Bonke has showered encomiums on Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante as he said the Frenchman has the characteristics of a 'V6 Engine'.

Kante remains one of the best midfielders in the world and the star was in the thick of the midfield during Chelsea’s 4-0 win over Malmo in the Champions League, Chelsea Chronicles reports.

Nigeria’s Bonke who was in the midfield against the Blues admitted that it takes a lot to be on the same level with the former Leicester City defensive midfielder.

In a chat with Own Goal Nigeria, Bonke said that it was hard to keep track of the 30-year-old as he was moving all the time.

Bonke said:

“Growing up in Nigeria we were told cars with V6 engine move faster than others and Kante has same characteristics. Hard to keep track of him. He was moving all the time. It takes a lot to get to that level.
“On the flip side. I learnt a lot from playing against a great player like Kante and the experience will help me in my career. You don’t get to play against his type every day.”

Messi nominates PSG teammates for Ballon d’Or

Meanwhile, Lionel Messi has snubbed Cristiano Ronaldo on the list of nominees who he will vote to win this year's Ballon d'Or award.

Messi has won the award a record six times while playing for Barcelona, followed by Ronaldo, who has won five (one with Manchester United and four with Real Madrid).

The pair, along with Messi are yet to really get together this season at PSG, but the Argentine is still convinced they have enough talent to be considered for the Ballon d'Or.

Messi couldn't overlook Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski's impact as well as that of Real Madrid star Karim Benzema this season.
