Kane intimated earlier in the season he wants to leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer and will be discussing his future with the club during the off-season.

The development is understood to have put a number of clubs on red alert, with Man United, Chelsea, and Man City emerging as potential suitors.

Metro UK reports that while United would love to have the forward, Spurs value him at around £150m, a figure that would make the England captain a British transfer record.

The publication added the valuation comes at a time of financial upheaval at Old Trafford owing to the global outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.

Solskjaer is believed to be keen on signing Dortmund hotshot Jadon Sancho, a pursuit that would leave no room left for a move for Kane.

Daily Mail, therefore claim United will abandon their interest in the Spurs talisman and pursue Haaland in 2020.

Haaland had a successful season with Dortmund as he finished as the Champions League's highest goalscorer.

The youngster is valued at around £130m by Dortmund but it is expected to take a significant dip to about £62m in 2022 owing to a clause in his current contract with the German giants.

As such, United will be hoping no one signs him this summer as they prepare to launch a swoop next year.

The 20-year-old has attracted interest from Man City, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Chelsea, and Paris Saint-Germain, with all the five clubs battling for the forward's services.

Edinson Cavani's recent 12-month contract extension means the Red Devils can afford to shelve plans to sign a striker for another season.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Bruno Fernandes could not hold back his tears after Manchester United lost to Villarreal in the Europa League final on Wednesday, May 26.

Man United were strong favourites to clinch the trophy against a side whose town in Spain only has a population of 51,000.

Solskjaer was looking for his first piece of silverware but, against the odds, it was Villarreal who took the lead in the first half, leaving the Red Devils with the usual job of coming from behind for a win.
