Italian League giants Juventus are reportedly not planning to hand Cristiano Ronaldo a contract extension after their consecutive ouster from the Champions League's last 16 stage.

The Old Lady were dumped out of the competition despite playing a 4-4 aggregate draw with FC Porto but lost out on away goals rule.

However, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner was blamed for Porto's late-minute strike after turning his back on Sergio Oliveira's free-kick when went straight into the net.

According to Daily Mail quoting Sky Italia, Juve's chief football officer, Fabio Paratici, has insisted that they will not rush to hand the forward a new deal but instead allow him to consider his options.

"Fortunately, there's a year left on his contract; we have time eventually to discuss it with him. Let's just say it's not on the agenda right now."

The 36-year-old's current deal with the Old Lady expires in the summer of 2022 and once that elapses, he could consider a move to the Major League Soccer next.

And Paratici admits the club will be powerless to stop him leaving, should he decide to begin 'another experience' elsewhere. He added:

"Cristiano has his career in his hands. Always with these great players, you know that when they decide to end their experience with one team and move on to another experience, it's they who decide, and you have to respect that decision. We have to consider how he will feel in order to continue or not once his contract expires."

Ronaldo came under fire on Tuesday night after turning his back on Oliveira's decisive free-kick for Porto in extra-time of their Champions League last-16 second leg.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Juventus could be planning to part ways with five-time Ballon d'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo at the end of this season.

The 36-year-old moved to the Turin club in a deal of around £100 million in 2018 but he has failed to live up to his billing at the Allianz Stadium.

Juve lured him away from Real Madrid three years ago to help them win another Champions League title since 1996 having won the title three straight times for Los Blancos.
