Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United have been dealt with a big blow after German champions Bayern Munich confirmed that they have won the race to sign Dayot Upamecano.

Dayot Upamecano who currently plays for German side Leipzig has been one of the best central defenders this season in Europe considering his excellent performances.

Hasan Salihamidzic who is the Sporting Director at Bayern Munich explained that the French footballer will be heading to the Arena stadium this summer.

Upamecano made his decision to team up with Bayern Munich following their success in the World Club Cup which they won.

And he will head to the Allianz Arena as a direct replacement for David Alaba who will be facing the exit doors on a free transfer according to the report on UK Sun.

“I can confirm reports we’ve won the race and we are very happy about it.
“We had very good, intensive and professional discussions with Dayot and his advisor for many months. We knew we had strong competition.
“Upamecano is a young player whose qualities have already developed extraordinarily. I was always convinced we had presented a good concept.''

The three Premier League team who have been looking for the signature of Dayot will now have to look elsewhere for them to get a good defender.

Earlier, had reported how Chelsea star Antonio Rudiger appeared to make a subtle dig towards former Blues gaffer Frank Lampard after praising new manager Thomas Tuchel who has gotten three wins in the Premier League.
