Chelsea star Cesar Azpilicueta has stated that there are no issues between himself and his team-mate Antonio Rudiger after reports surfaced that in-fighting exists within the squad.

There were claims that the duo has been causing unrest among the players at the Stamford Bridge club.

Rudiger was not one of Frank Lampard's favourites and he was relegated mostly to the bench by the recently sacked manager.

However, news filtered into the media space said the 27-year-old centre-back had an altercation with his teammate Cezar Azpilicueta during their training sessions earlier this week.

Rudiger has been greeted with so many criticisms from the Blues fans across social media platforms, with rumours circulating of the German being a rat within the dressing room, perhaps contributing to Lampard’s downfall.

But speaking over the allegation, Azpilicueta said via Daily Mail:

“With Toni, we didn't have an issue and we have been working together for a few years.
“That news from outside, we're not sure so that's why Tammy and myself we both tweeted.
“Everything is fine and I can say that didn't happen. We didn't have any issues and we don't have. We always work together. As other players, we have sometimes our discussions, normal in football.
“When results are not going well, everybody has more tension around but nothing further than this."

Meanwhile, former Manchester United star Wayne Rooney has stated that although he was not surprised to see Frank Lampard get sacked as Chelsea manager, the tactician did well before he left.

According to Rooney, the situation at Chelsea is that managers must win trophies and he is not surprised that his former team-mate was axed.

The Blues announced the signing of former Paris Saint-Germain manager Thomas Tuchel who takes over from sacked Frank Lampard.

However, Legit.ng earlier reported that Mason Mount has shown appreciation to sacked Chelsea boss Frank Lampard saying he has nothing but praise and gratitude for him.

Mount has become a key member of the present Chelsea squad and the England national team with the help of Lampard in the last two seasons.
