Mount has become a key member of the present Chelsea squad and the England national team with the help of Lampard in the last two seasons.

And the 22-year-old has insisted that he is grateful to the English manager and declared that he 'means a lot' to him.

Mount said.

"It's not a nice time, it is a tough time for the club.
"I've been here for a very long time and seen managers depart from afar while being in the academy but when you're in the first team building and it happens, it's a different feeling.
"He's [Lampard] been very important to me. He brought me to Derby, gave me the playing time and I learnt so much under him there before coming back to Chelsea and continuing my learning.
"I have nothing but praise and gratitude for everything he's given me as a player on and off the pitch. I've definitely grown as a player as well so he obviously means a lot to me."

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Frank Lampard has been known to be a no-nonsense manager since he became manager of Chelsea in the summer of 2018.

Though the English boss was shown the door in the past few days, a photo of a framed listed fines was leaked online with Lampard's signature endorsing it, Mirror reports.

Knowing fully well about the youthful squad, Lampard included fines for players who returned for pre-season late to not making it on time for treatment and many more.

All the fines totalled up to £53,500 and to make matters worse, any fine that was not paid within two weeks was doubled.
