- Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah have both enjoyed successes at Premier League club Liverpool
- Both African stars inspired the Reds to the English topflight title last season and the UCL the previous season
- Mane has however claimed that Brazilian star Roberto Firmino is his favourite teammate
Liverpool star Sadio Mane has disclosed that Roberto Firmino is his favourite teammate despite his close relationship with fellow African star Mohamed Salah.
The Senegalese captain was recently questioned about his relationship with the Brazilian star Firmino with whom, along with Salah, he has enjoyed incredible success at the Premier League club.
Mane teased that although the former Hoffenheim Firmino forward is yet to give him an assist so far this season, he considers the 29-year-old as his favourite at Anfield.
He told ESPN via GOAL:
"I think Brazil are just lucky to have Firmino. I'd love to… I always say 'Bobby, you have to change your nationality and come to Senegal', which for me would be a dream.
"I just love him. And as a teammate I think he's my favourite teammate. I love him."
And former Nigerian captain Austin Okocha believes Mohamed Salah appears to have overstayed his welcome at Liverpool after a disappointing season.
The Reds won the Premier League for the first time in 30 years last season but are a shadow of themselves this term as they sit sixth on the log with 40 points, 19 behind Manchester City.
Okocha has however urged that the Egyptian join Barcelona if the opportunity presents itself at the end of this season.
Salah earlier admitted that he would be delighted to play for either the Catalans or Real Madrid but insisted he is focused on helping Liverpool succeed while he is still at Anfield.
After losing 4 straight games at Anfield, Liverpool name the player they will sign to get back to winning ways
However, Legit.ng earlier reported that Liverpool are reportedly planning to offer Sevilla player including cash in exchange for Lucas Ocampos in the summer.
The Reds have suffered four consecutive Premier League defeat - the following year after winning the title for the first time in over three decades, the first time they have done so in over 60 years.
Jurgen Klopp is already planning to fortify his squad for the coming season with a move for the Argentina international.
