United were completely outplayed by the newly-promoted Watford, who ran out 4-1 winners to pile more pressure on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

It was another forgettable performance from Bruno Fernandes, who was partly to blame for his side’s misery as a poor kick of the ball led to his side conceding a penalty early on.

While the major talking point in the game will certainly be the scoreline and Harry Maguire’s red card with 20 minutes to play, Fernandes briefly stole the show with his conduct at the full-time whistle.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made his way onto the pitch at full time to apologetically applaud the travelling fans, who predictably jeered him.

It seemed the angry away fans were not willing to take any apologies from Solskjaer, as they resorted to crude gestures to make their feelings known.

Solskjaer continued to apologize and by this point, Fernandes noted the treatment of the fans towards the manager and decided to intervene.

In a video of the incident, the Portuguese star is seen shaking his finger at the fans while gesturing to his teammates as if to say all the blame should not go to the manager.

But the United fans were unwilling to hear any of it and this seemed to aggravate the 27-year old more, who needed the help of teammate Fred to calm down.

New low for United

Defeat to Watford summed up the state of Manchester United in recent weeks, as the Red Devils have now lost five out of their last seven league matches.

It remains to be seen how the club’s hierarchy will react after the latest defeat, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will certainly be feeling the pressure as his side continues to slip away from the big guns.

Man United sack Solskjaer

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been relieved of his job at English Premier League club Manchester United.

The club in a statement on Sunday morning, November 21, stated that the decision to let the manager go is regretted.

Man United thank the Norweigian manager saying his place in the club’s history will always be secure.

Michael Carrick will now take charge of the team for forthcoming games, while the club looks to appoint an interim manager to the end of the season.
