The Premier League has been marked with a string of sackings in recent weeks with Villa among the clubs who have shown their manager the door.

While Rangers boss Steven Gerrard is believed to be the favourite to succeed Dean Smith at Villa Park, it has emerged Lampard is also eyeing the job.

Speaking on talkSPORT Breakfast show, Redknapp divulged the legendary midfielder has set his sights on returning to management with Villa.

“The Aston Villa job, for sure, is one that would interest him,” Redknapp divulged.
“But the job is up for grabs and there will be plenty of people interested. Villa is a great club.
“Norwich is also a smashing club run by good people. So they’re two good jobs for somebody," he added.

Lampard has been without a job since January 2021 when he was sacked at Chelsea after a string of poor results.

At the time, the former England international was fresh into management, with his only experience coming a Derby County who he nearly helped earn promotion to the Premier League.

Lampard linked with Norwich job

Meanwhile, despite Lampard's interest in the Villa job, the Englishman has already been linked with the vacant Norwich slot.

Norwich, who currently sit bottom of the log are believed to be having the 43-year-old as their No.1 target to succeed Daniel Farke who was recently axed.

Earlier, TUKO.co.ke reported he is said to have even held talks with the Canaries hierarchy over the possibility of taking charge of the club.

The Carrow Road-based outfit are currently battling relegation as they sit bottom of the log with a paltry five points.
