As the world football governing body continues to threaten that it would suspend Nigeria if the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, does not resolve the court cases rocking the football house,  Senate President, David Mark, has urged the NFF to resolve its crisis in the interest of the country.

Mark made the appeal at the opening session of the Senate plenary on Tuesday, The Nation reports.

It was gathered that the Senate President stated that all those involved in the crisis rocking the football house should sheath their sword and place the country first.

He added that the resolution of NFF crisis has become even more urgent in view of the FIFA threat looming over the country.

"All those involved in the NFF crisis should for the sake of the nation and for the sake of the football loving Nigerians resolve their crisis.

“FIFA is threatening to ban us, we must not allow that to happen. Those involved should resolve their crisis and put the nation first in all they do,” Mark said.

The lawmaker also congratulated the Super Falcons for winning the African Women’s Championship in Namibia.

The Falcons are expected to pay President Goodluck Jonathan a visit in Abuja on Wednesday.
