FootballPhotos: Jonathan Calls Falconets (Video)
President Jonathan took time out from his private visit in Germany to call Nigeria's U20 female team, the Falconets, who are now preparing to face Germany in the 2014 FIFA Under-20 Women's World Cup in Montreal, Canada.
The president was pictured above encouraging the girls and praising their achievements so far at the tournament.
The team are facing their German counterparts later today (Sunday) in the finals and in the phone call, Jonathan promised them a heroine welcome if they overcame their German counterparts.
'I look forward to receiving you at the Presidential Villa with the winners’ trophy and you can be assured of the immense gratitude of the Federal Government and the very appreciative people of Nigeria,” he said.
He also promised to watch the game even though it will be on quite late in Germany.

The “Falconets” are Nigeria's women under 20 junior team. In 2010 they took a second place in a FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup and were the runners-up to German team, which won the championship.
