Kasper Hjulmand who is the manager in charge of the Denmark national team has expressed disappointment over how his team were sent out of the EURO 2020 championship losing against England.

It was a tough game for England on Wednesday night, July 7, as the Three-Lions had to come back from a goal down to win the semifinal encounter 2-1 at the Wembley stadium.

Denmark players started the match impressively against England, but they had to wait until the 30th minute before scoring their goal through Mikkel Damsgaard.

However, things turned sour for the Danish players Simon Kjaer scored an own goal in the 39th minute to give England the equalizer.

Second half and Extra time drama

In the second half, both sides failed to find the back of the net which made the center referee to signal for the start of an additional 30 minutes.

England were awarded a penalty by referee Danny Makkelie when Raheem Sterling went down under Joakim Maehle's challenge and Harry Kane scored in the 104th minute.

Denmark tried all their best to restore parity before the end of the match, but they were unable to score as England booked their place in the final.

According to the report on Sky Sports and ESPN, Denmark coach claimed that England should not have been awarded the penalty.

Kasper Hjulmand's reaction

"It was a penalty which should not have been a penalty. It is something which annoys me right now. We are very disappointed.

"You cannot pass by the ball on the pitch which has so much influence on the game.''

Harry Kane scored a rebound after Kasper Schmeichel initially denied his effort from the spot in the 104th minute to secure their passage to their first-ever European Championship final.

Both Wenger and Mourinho both agreed that the controversial winner that powered England to a 2-1 win over Denmark in their semifinal encounter earlier this week.

They insisted that the VAR should have stepped as replays showed the contact was not enough to have resulted in a penalty.
