Former Nigerian international Austin Jay Jay Okocha has stated that his former teammate at French club Paris Sain-Germain Ronaldinho tried to imitate some of his skills.

Okocha played at the Ligue 1 club between 1998 and 2002 where he featured in 83 league games scoring 12 goals.

Young Ronaldinho arrived the club in 2001 and the pair partnered in the midfield before the Nigerian moved to the Premier League a year later to join Bolton Wanderers.

In a recent interview with with Egyptian TV, Okocha, who played for several European clubs spoke of the time he shared at PSG with Brazilian legend Ronaldinho Gaucho.

He narrated how the Brazilian would copy some of the dribbles and tricks he was famous for.

"Ronaldinho tried to imitate some of my skills and dribbles, he was still a young player before I left for England and he joined Barcelona," Okocha told 'On time sports' via AS.

The former Nigerian captain also believes Egyptian star Mohamed Salah appears to have overstayed his welcome at Liverpool after a disappointing season.

The Reds won the Premier League for the first time in 30 years last season but are a shadow of themselves this term as they sit sixth on the log with 40 points, 19 behind Manchester City.

Okocha has urged the Egyptian join Spanish giants Barcelona if the opportunity presents itself at the end of this season.

The 28-year-old has already admitted earlier this term that he would be delighted to play for either the Catalans or Real Madrid but insisted he is focused on helping Liverpool succeed while he is still at Anfield.

Salah joined the Merseyside outfit in 2017 from Roma and became an instant success for them - helping them to Champions League glory in 2018-19 season and then the EPL title a year later.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that reports from inside the Santiago Bernabeu have it that La Liga giants Real Madrid are desperate to sign Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah.

Although some Liverpool supporters think he only said such in a bid to get a bigger contract at Anfield as the Merseyside team are desperate to keep the Egyptian.
