- Cristiano Ronaldo has urged his Italian club Juventus to sign old friend Marcelo
- Ronaldo and Marcelo won the Champions League together four times at Madrid
- The Portugues striker had in 2020 urged Juve to sign the Brazilian before coronavirus struck
Juventus striker Cristiano Ronaldo has once again pleaded with the club to complete the signing of his old team-mate at Real Madrid Marcelo during the summer.
Reports cited in SunSport have it that Los Blancos are considering offloading the defender and now his chances of reuniting with Ronaldo becomes even brighter.
It was gathered that CR7 had, in 2020, urged the club to go for the Brazilian and officials of the Italian club had planned to travel to Spain to finalise the deal before the outbreak of coronavirus.
ForzaItalianFootball are claiming that Ronaldo is once again knocking the door at the club, but Marcelo still has another one year on his existing contract with Real Madrid.
The Brazilian has established himself as one of the world's best left-backs during his trophy laiden spell in the Spanish capital, but there is no interest in offering the Brazilian a new deal.
Ronaldo and Marcelo won the Champions League together four times at Madrid and developed a close relationship on and off the pitch.
Real signed Brazil international Marcelo from Fluminense on January 2007 and he has played 519 games in all competitions since.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid closed the gap to Atletico Madrid to five points following their 2-0 win over Getafe at the Alfredo di Stefano Stadium.
Atletico were forced to 2-2 draw by Celta Vigo and Los Blancos knew only a win would keep their hopes alive in catching up with their city rivals.
French duo Karim Benzema and Ferland Mendy scored a goal each in the second half to give Zinedine Zidane's side the win.
However, Legit.ng earlier reported that Cristiano Ronaldo now has the highest number of followers on social media as a sports celebrity on social media.
The recently clocked 36-year-old officially reached 500 million followers more than any other athlete on social media.
The Juventus striker has been in superb form as recently became the world's leading scorer in the history of football.
CR7 is also leading the pack in Serie A with 16 goals and helped Juve qualify into the finals of the Coppa Italia.
