Former Nigeria international Yisa Sofoluwe hospitalized in Lagos for brain disease

Former Super Eagles defender Yisa Sofoluwe is now battling for survival in an hospital in Ikorodu, Lagos after being reportedly diagnosed of brain disease.

Yisa Sofoluwe during his active playing time was one of the best left backs Nigeria has ever produced considering his style of play and high sense of defending.

According to the report by PUNCH, the 53-year-old will have to go through a brain magnetic resonance imaging scan so as for the doctors treating him to know the next level.

PUNCH added that it was former international Waidi Akanni who alerted them that Yisa Sofoluwe is currently being hospitalized and needs serious attention.

“He’s in a coma now as we speak. He has undergone some tests and the doctors found out that he has some dead tissues in his brain. He needs adequate treatment to recover well.''

Yisa Sofoluwe won 40 caps and scored one goal for the Super Eagles and was their regular left back between 1983 and 1988, playing at the 1984 and 1988 African Nations Cups.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa confirmed that his sports complex in Kaduna has been opened to all in the environment.

The 28-year-old attacker recently completed another multi-million naira facility in the northern part of the country, barely two years after opening the Kano outfit.

This facility has a mini football pitch and other indoor and outdoor equipment for the use of individuals and groups of people.

Musa dropped the development on his Instagram stories today, February 1, calling on his fans to make use of the ultra-modern initiative for their own good.

The former Leicester City attacker has also revealed plans to build a school in Jos and this is one of the many philanthropic gestures of the forward.

Also, Legit reported how Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo joined Saudi Arabian side Al Shabab on a permanent deal.

The Saudi Arabian side took to their official social media page to confirm the arrival of the Nigerian football legend who won golden boot at 2019 African Cup of Nations.

Al Shabab stated clearly that the former Osun United striker has signed a two and a half year deal with them with option of him increasing the deal subsequently.
