The Scotsman was solid for United during the highly contested match, managing to silence former teammate Ander Herrera and Idrissa Gueye in the midfield.

However, it has emerged the young midfielder had to do it with a severely affected vision after he lost his contact lens.

SunSport quoted Solskjaer saying:

"Scott's [McTominay] first-half performance was even more impressive considering he only had one contact lens in."

Bruno Fernandes had earlier opened the scoring for the visitors in the 23rd minute, slotting home from the spot after Anthony Martial was brought down in the area.

Martial, however, helped PSG equalise in the 55th minute as he headed the ball into his own net from Neymar's corner.

The Frenchman would have Rashford to thank as the Englishman scored a stunner three minutes to time to win it for the Red Devils.

The win leaves United sitting second on Group H of the European tournament behind RB Leipzig who beat Istanbul Basaksehir 2-0 in the other group fixture.

The Old Trafford dwellers will be preparing to take on Chelsea in their next assignment in the Premier League.
