Manchester City have announced the signing of Spanish winger Ferran Torres joining the Etihad landlords from Valencia on a five-year deal.

The Citizens lost the 2019/20 Premier League title to Liverpool and the club's manager Pep Guardiola made it clear that he will bolster his squad for next season.

And that process has started by getting the signature of Ferran Torres who is now Pep Guardiola's first summer signing.

The departure of Leroy Sane to Bayern Munich made Manchester City to enter the transfer market for a replacement.

Injuries and lack of active playing time last season at the Etihad stadium forced Leroy Sane out of Manchester City.

Ferran Torres on the other hand started his career at Valencia's academy before making it to the first team last two terms.

Last season, the 20-year-old played 34 games for Valencia scoring four goals as the club finished ninth on the final 2019/20 Spanish La Liga table.

While reacting on his move to Manchester City, Ferran Torres praised Pep Guardiola claiming that his style of football will really help his career and he is ready to make him proud.

Meanwhile, Manchester City are also looking for the signing of Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Nigerian footballer Fisayo Dele-Bashiru completed a move to Championship side Sheffield Wednesday from Manchester City for an undisclosed fee.

The second division club made the announcement on their official website claiming that the 19-year-old will help them in their campaign next season.

Fisayo Dele-Bashiru is now the first summer signing for Sheffield Wednesday who will be fighting for promotion to the Premier League next term.

At the just concluded season in the Championship, Sheffield Wednesday did not do well as they finished as 16th best on the final League table.

Dele-Bashiru began his career at Manchester City youth teams, but failed to make it to the first team of the side he joined when he was eight.
