Wilfred Ndidi in the past few years has been regarded as the best central midfielder in the top five leagues in Europe.

The Nigerian international has been the best ball winner in the English Premier league and has been the compared to the likes of top midfielders in Europe.

The 23-year-old has helped Leicester City excel in the league this season as they remain on course for a Champions League finish on the table.

But according to SPORF, the former Genk star was not among the top eight midfielders with Real Madrid's Carlos Casemiro top of the list.

Barcelona's Sergio Busquets and Frenkie de Jong were also included as well as Manchester City's Fernandinho and Rodrygo.

Others are Paris Saint-Germian and Senegalese Idrissa Gueye and Liverpool and Brazil's Fabinho Tavares.

One fan who was not happy with the selection said: "I don't care if you rate him or not Ndidi is my own CDM."

Another added: "Wilfred Ndidi must be a goalkeeper."

A third found it ridiculous not to add Ndidi to the list: "Lol... He’s not even among the nominees."

A fourth was surprised Chelsea's N'Golo Kante was snubbed: "Kante is not even a dm.. he is a box to box cm with tackling attributes."

A fifth criticized Fabinho's selection: "Fabinho and its not even close."

A seventh added: "Ndidi and Partey are not rated despite being better than all the dumbos you wrote here."
