- John Stones has been limited to just nine Premier League appearances for Man City this season

- He now looks set to leave the Manchester outfit in search for more game-time

- Arsenal have now emerged as his possible destination with the club seeking to add depth in defence

Manchester City defender, John Stones, is reportedly ready to hold talks with Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta, over a possible January move to Emirates.

Stones has endured a torrid spell at Man City after failing to nail a starting role under Pep Guardiola.

Metro UK reports a string of high profile mistakes has seen the promising defender fall down the pecking order, with Guardiola preferring makeshift center-back Fernandinho in the heart of defense.

Stones is now understood to be interested in talking to Arteta over a possible move to the Gunners as he seeks for regular playing time.

The 25-year-old has a cordial relationship with Arteta from their time together at the Etihad Stadium.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are on the hunt for defensive reinforcements with Arteta already facing a crisis in the department following Callum Chambers' injury lay off.

"Obviously we have a bad injury with Calum a few days ago that will change our plans at the back," Arteta, who was recently joined Arsenal from Man City was quoted saying.
"And if something extra comes up and we think it is the right opportunity to improve what we have, then let’s do it," the Spaniard added.

And with young defender Konstantinos Mavropanos already out on loan to Nurnberg, Stones would be a perfect addition to Arsenal's squad.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Manchester City completed the signing of highly-rated Nigerian-born star Camron Gbadebo from Leicester City for an undisclosed fee.

The 17-year-old centre-half defender made a successful switch from Leicester City U-18 academy to Etihad Stadium following his successful trial.
