WhatsApp has said it will take legal action against people or companies who break its rules, even if the breach happens on another platform.

WhatsApp, the popular messaging app, will begin showing adverts as from next year, 2020, Facebook, its parent company, has confirmed.

Hackers gained control of WhatsApp as they installed surveillance software on phones and other devices running the app. The attack was targeted at some of its selected users.

WhatsApp users may be forced to get a new phone to get their messages as the company has put in place more blocks. The blocks will especially those whose phones run on the Windows platform.

WhatsApp has announced that it would stop working on all Windows smartphones as from December 2019, as the chatting app will no longer work on all mobile devices running Windows operating system.
