The Operation Lafiya Dole
Not fewer than 32 Boko Haram terrorists have reportedly willingly surrendered to the Nigerian Army troops at different locations in the theatre Borno state just as two civilians died and three others were injured in Bama.
Troops on Operation Lafiya Dole in their effort to combat terrorism in the country killed three Boko Haram members during an encounter in Monguno Local Government Area of Borno state. Ut happened on Friday, June 28.
The Nigerian army with support of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) in its Operation Lafiya Dole has rescued 148 people kept as hostages by Boko Haram terrorists. 15 men, 58 Women and 75 Children were set free.
The Nigerian Army on Wednesday, May 16 said it killed 15 Boko Haram terrorists and rescued 49 persons in separate encounters between Boko Haram and Nigerian and Cameroonian troops in the Southern Lake Chad Basin.
The Nigerian Army, on Monday, May 7, announced through a statement that its troops of the 22 Brigade taking part in the operation Lafiya Dole have rescued over 1000 hostages from the Boko Haram terrorists enclave.
Major General Yusufu attributed the COAS gesture to recognition of troops valour and commitment to duty during the Operation Deep Punch II, which led to the successful demolition of the stronghold of Boko Haram terrorists.
