Mixed reactions have trailed Nigeria's former president Olusegun Obasanjo's endorsement of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2019 general elections, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

Following criticism of President Muhammadu Buhari by Atiku Presidential Campaign Organisation, the social media aide to the president, Lauretta Onochie, has listed 64 achievements of the president in the agricultural sector.

As the 2019 general elections draw nearer, a chieftain of the APC in Delta state, Chidi Nwabuofu, has said the emergence of Atiku Abubakar as presidential candidate of the PDP is not a threat to President Muhammadu Buhari.

Atiku, of course, won with a sweeping margin of 1, 532 votes, defeating his close challengers, Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto state who polled 693 votes to place the Senate President Bukola Saraki to the third position.

With a few days to the primaries of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the former governor of Jigawa state who is also a PDP presidential hopeful, Sule Lamido, has said he will not step down for Atiku Abubakar come October 6.
