Mutiu Adepoju Pleads For Keshi On World Cup List
Former Nigerian attacking midfielder, Mutiu Adepoju, has told Nigerians to leave Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi, alone.
This is coming after a lot of criticisms trailed the 30-man provisional list released by Keshi last week Tuesday in Abuja.
According to Adepoju, popularly called 'the headmaster' by his fans during his playing days, Keshi knows what he is doing and he should be left alone to do his job.
The one time Real Betis of Spain star stated that: "Keshi knows very well what he is doing and he has definitely invited the players whom he believes will give the required results in Brazil.
"The most important thing here is the coach's belief in the crop of players that he has invited to prosecute the competition. And I would implore Nigerians to leave him alone".

When asked on how he thinks the Super Eagles can go at the Mundial next month, the midfielder renowned for scoring numerous goals with his head statedw: "one cannot say how far. The state of preparedness, the state of mind of the players as well will go a long way in determining how far we shall go at the tournament.
"Keshi knows what he is doing with the players whether right or wrong. He has invited players who have been giving him results".
He however refused to be drawn into a debate as regards the inclusion of Warri Wolves' goalie, Chigozie Agbim.
Amid smiles, Adepoju said: "I cannot really say anything about that because I am not the coach. He knows for sure why Agbim was invited".
Also, former Director General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Dr. Patrick Ekeji, has admitted that he won’t like to be in the shoes of the Super Eagles head coach, Stephen Keshi.
Answering questions from journalists in Abuja at the weekend, the former NSC DG argued that since Keshi would never come up with a list that can be generally accepted by all, Nigerians should give him the benefit of doubt to continue his job.
The Super Eagles are drawn against Argentina, Iran and Bosnia in the 2014 FIFA World Cup which starts on 12 June to 13 July in Brazil.
