Real Madrid have reportedly listed former manager Carlo Ancelotti as a possible replacement for Zinedine Zidane this summer.

The Frenchman's deal with Los Blancos was due in 2020 but he is considering walking away from the club at the end of this season.

However, some close pals claim the 48-year-old won't know where his future lies until after the final Spanish League game against Villarreal on May 23.

There are unconfirmed reports that Zidane is planning to quit for the second time regardless of how their season ends according to The Mirror.

The publication claims that the three-time Champions League winner could be planning another break from the mental challenge of leading one of the world’s biggest football clubs.

Perez on the other hand is trying to raise funds to sign quality players the manager would ideally like to work with, but the club chief already has alternatives in case Zidane walks away.

Real legend Raul has been tipped as a possible successor owing to the success he is enjoying with the youth team but Ancelotti, who led Madrid to Champions League glory in 2014 is a top choice.

Los Blancos' last two games of the season are against Athletic Bilbao and Villarreal on May 16th and 23rd as they hope to retain the La Liga title this campaign.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Manchester United may have been handed a transfer boost after Real Madrid placed a £60 million price tag on centre-back Raphael Varane.

The Red Devils have been linked with a move for the French World Cup winner as a potential partner for Harry Maguire in their quest to solidify their backline.

Sources say Los Blancos will not entertain the £40 million opening bid from the Premier League outfit who are planning to express formally their interest in the defender.
