No fewer than 500 away fans are expected at various Premier League match venues for the last two games this season.

Football supporters have been denied access to watch their favourite clubs play live since March 2020 owing to the outbreak of the deadly coronavirus.

However, with the vaccination programs currently going on across the country, the UK government is willing to allow about 10,000 fans into the stadia for just two games.

Meaning that as of May 17, every match venue in the EPL will be chanced to accommodate 25 percent of its capacity and this includes the 500 fans from the away team.

And this is a win for the Premier League following their hard work to rule out every form of doubt among officials about the return of away supporters according to Daily Mail quoting Sportsmail.

The publication added that the Premier League is kind of slowing down on the second to the last fixtures so as fans can catch a glimpse of their teams' play.

This means that the 37th game of the season will now be played on May 18 and 19, the day after the third stage of the government’s covid road map is scheduled to start. And the final round takes place on Sunday, May 23.

However, those plans did not include any provision for away supporters. Now, Premier League chief executive, Richard Masters, has written to clubs to advise them that the government is prepared to relax the 'no away fans' stipulation in current guidance.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Premier League is set to witness the return of football fans with latest reports having it that a maximum of 4,000 spectators will be allowed into match venues as from December 3.

The new UK government rules are said to favour the return of fans in a scheme determined by tiers of lockdown restrictions.

Sources claim that a number of fans in low-risk areas can return to sporting facilities for the first time since March and Prime Minister Boris Johnson is expected to make an announcement.
