Portuguese sensation Cristiano Ronaldo could depart Italian club Juventus at the end of the season according to reports from local outlet Gazetta dello Sport.

It was gathered that the five-time Ballon d’Or winner has become very distant from his teammates and no longer exhibits that fighting spirit he is famous for.

Ronaldo still has one more year left on his mammoth contract with Juve and there are interests from Manchester City, PSG and his former club Manchester United.

The 36-year-old is said to be growing increasingly “irritable” within the squad and could finally depart the Turin based side as soon as the summer transfer window opens.

Although Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici had stated last month that the club will retain the striker despite their financial status.

Latest reports suggest that the club might not have the financial prowess to keep the former Real Madrid striker for another year.

Gazetta dello Sport via SunSport claims:

"He's nervous, irritable and very distant from his teammates. He seems to have given up and he's not got as much fight as he usually does.
"He seemed very different against Fiorentina, which is a worrying sign. Ronaldo is no longer trying to hide these feelings."
"He's isolated away from the pitch. It seems that he's getting closer and closer to leaving Juventus."

Earlier reports also claim Ronaldo already contacted his agent, Jorge Mendes, to go into negotiations with Man Utd if they would be interested in accepting him back when the transfer window opens.

Juve, however, have struggled in the Champions League in recent seasons, having been knocked out by Ajax Amsterdam, Olympique Lyon and Porto in the past three campaigns.

The Old Lady now face a battle to qualify for Europe's elite club competition, with both Lazio and Napoli having games in hand over Andrea Pirlo's fourth-placed men.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema became the joint-fourth highest goals scorer in the Champions League after scoring in his side's 1-1 draw against Chelsea earlier this week.

The Frenchman's 29th minute overhead goal handed Los Blancos a lifeline ahead of their second leg in London after Christian Pulisic opened the scoring for the Blues earlier in the game.

His tally has now risen to 71 goals to equal legendary striker Raul's record while only Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, and Robert Lewandowski ahead of him on the goals chart.
