Reports from the Old Trafford have it that Edinson Cavani is set to depart Manchester United as soon as the summer transfer window opens.

It was gathered that the 34-year-old may be heading to South America after spending a staggering 14 years in Europe playing for top teams.

Cavani has enjoyed a relatively successful first year at Old Trafford, contributing six goals and two assists from 19 outings in the Premier League.

ESPN are claiming that the star is already negotiating with Argentina giants Boca Juniors over the coming months.

While he possesses a two-year contract with United, both parties can also agree to cut ties in the summer.

Luis Cavani, Edinson’s father, has previously suggested that his son was more likely to sign for Boca Jubiors than remain in England.

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has set a new record for the English club following his strike in their 2-0 win over Granada in the Europa League.

The red Devils take a giant leap ahead of the return leg - with Bruno Fernandes also going into the score-sheet following his spot-kick late in the encounter.

The 23-year-old Rashford has now equalled a 56-year-old Manchester United goalscoring record becoming the first United player to score 8 goals in European competition proper in a season since Sir Bobby Charlton.

Charlton is considered among the finest players to have ever represented the Premier League giants, a legacy Rashford himself might hope to emulate by the time he hangs up his boots.

The forward has now struck on 87 occasions in 261 matches for United, assisting a further 52 strikes.

Legit.ng earlier reported that fresh reports from Spain have it that Catalan club Barcelona are desperate in signing Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland as soon as the summer transfer window opens.

It was gathered that the Spanish giants have prioritised signing the Norwegian over ensuring club captain Lionel Messi signs a new contract.

The six-time Ballon d’Or winner has been heavily linked with a move away from the club amid interests from Ligue 1 side PSG as well as Premier League club Manchester United.

It was gathered that one of the new Barca president Joan Laporta's list of priorities is landing Haaland.
