Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has praised midfielder Bruno Fernandes over his new penalty technique which according to him is ‘unique’.

The Portuguese international grabbed a goal from the spot helping United win 2-0 away from home in their Europa League quarter-final first leg at Granada.

Fernandes doubled the lead for the Red Devils in the latter stages of the encounter to help secure a crucially away goal following Marcus Rashford’s earlier strike.

The penalty was awarded after home defender Yan Brice caught Fernandes in the face, with the Portuguese left nursing an eye injury.

After the game, Solskjaer said via Manchester Evening News as cited in Mirror:

"To be honest, I haven't seen it, just seen his eye when he came on, he got hit. I've not seen it, I've got to say. His eye is red and to score with just one eye open is also a skill!"
“The first goal, very good run by Rashford and then he takes the ball fantastically and it’s a fantastic finish."

On the other hand, Tomas Holes' 90+4 minute header was all Slavia Prague needed to deny Arsenal a victory in the first leg of their Europa League clash at the Emirates Stadium.

The 28-year-old defender powered home an unstoppable header in the late minutes of the added time to ensure his side avoided defeat.

His goal puts the Czech football outfit at an advantage ahead of the second on Thursday, April 15 as they both battle for one semifinal spot to make it 1-1.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Manchester City attacker Kevin de Bruyne tops the Premier League highest earners table with a staggering £385k-a-week deal.

The Belgian signed a new five-year contract extension earlier this week having originally joined them from Wolfsburg in 2015.

After spending six years at the Etihad Stadium, the 29-year-old has already won two EPL titles including four EFL Cups, one FA Cup, and a Community Shield.
