Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has discountenanced Jurgen Klopp's claims that the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano is not a proper stadium, adding that they are proud to play there.

The facility is often used for training sessions by the senior team while Real Madrid Castilla (B team) play their games on the pitch.

Los Blancos are one leg into the semifinals of the Champions League this season following their 3-1 triumph over their Premier League counterparts.

Although the second leg will play a huge role in which of the two teams progresses into the last-four stage, the Reds are however not alien in turning results around considering their feat against Barcelona in 2019.

Klopp was said to have blamed the field for his side's defeat after the final whistle was sounded at full time according to Daily Star.

"This here tonight was really strange because it was a difficult situation in the stadium, but Anfield is at least a proper stadium and that will be good for us."

Real boss Zidane has now replied to the Liverpool handler after saying that his players have no shame in playing at the smaller venue.

"I don't have an opinion about what Jurgen says, we are proud to play in this stadium."

Despite heading into the second leg with a 3-1 scoreline, Zidane insists that his players will give their best until the end of the game at Anfield.

"Liverpool is the opponent and we know they are going to leave all they have on the pitch, I have no question about that. We just need to be ready and it is going to be a very good second-leg match. We will need to do the same thing in the second leg.
"We are happy with the result but we have won nothing. We are happy with the performance and what the players have done is huge after a lot of difficulties in our season.
"There is a long road ahead and we are alive. Today is the first leg but we'll know we'll have a second leg and our idea is to think that we go into that and the result will be 0-0. For us, we are happy but we have another complicated game for the second leg."

Legit.ng earlier reported that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has lashed out at the match officials following his side's 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League quarterfinal clash on Tuesday, April 6.

Two goals from Vinicius Jr and one from Marco Asensio ensured Mohamed Salah's 51st-minute effort ended up a mere consolation.

The Reds have a chance to redeem their image at Anfield next week but will need to score at least two un-replied goals if they must advance to the last-four stage of the competition.
