Africa's most expensive player Victor Osimhen was on target for Napoli in their 4-3 triumph over Crotone in their Serie A clash at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
The 22-year-old recorded his name on the scores sheet in the 22nd minute after converting Lorenzo Insigne's cross from the left side of the 18-yeard box from close range.
Coach Gennaro Gattuso's men were in control of possession in the early minutes of the game and they had all the time to spring passes across the opponent's danger zone.
Fabian spotted Insigne making a run into the 18-yard box before sending the ball straight to him and the 29-year-old decided to jab it to the other side of the post with Osimhen waiting to convert the chance.
Meanwhile, the former Lille forward is not the only Nigerian who scored in the game as Simeon Nwankwo also scored twice for the visitors, but, his efforts were not enough to stop them from losing.
The 28-year-old scored in the 25th and 48th minutes of the meeting but Giovanni Di Lorenzo's 72nd minute sealed the victory for the home team.
Osimhen has now scored four goals in 14 Serie A games while Simy on the other hand has 15 goals from 28 topflight appearances.
The former Wolfsburg attacker recently returned from the Super Eagles camp where he fired the national team to victory over Lesotho in Lagos while they qualify for AFCON championship without losing any of their group games.
He is also the joint top scorer during the qualifications with five goals alongside Zambia's Patson Daka.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Nigerian striker Simeon Nwankwo was on target twice as Crotone claim an emphatic Serie A victory 4-1 over Benevento at the Stadio Ezio Scida on Sunday, January 17.
The 28-year-old Super Eagles forward has now recorded six goals in 18 Italian League appearances this campaign.
Though his side is still rock-bottom on the table with 12 points, a few more wins will catapult them out of the relegation zone.
