Rooney made the admission while paying tribute to Sergio Aguero who is due to leave Man City at the end of the season.

It was confirmed on Monday, March 29, Aguero will be departing Etihad once his contract expires this summer after an illustrious 10-year career with City.

The Argentine star will be exiting as the Manchester club's all time top scorer, having amassed an incredible tally of 257 goals in 384 appearances.

During that period, the 32-year-old won an impressive 13 titles, with four of those being league trophies.

He is already in line to win a fifth this season to add to his already decorative CV.

His most remarkable moment with the club was when he scored a last-gasp winner against QPR in 2012 to help City lift their first top-flight title in 44 years.

Aguero's illustrious spell with the Citizens has seen him ink his name in EPL's history books as one of the best foreign players to ever grace the English division.

Whereas Rooney contends the Argentina international is up there with some of the finest foreign imports, he feels Henry stands alone as the best ever.

"Aguero has been fantastic and is certainly right up there," Rooney noted.
"But if I was asked to choose then I’d probably say Thierry Henry was the best foreign player.
"There’s a few in a pack just behind him who are right up there like Aguero, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Dennis Bergkamp and Eric Cantona," he added.

It remains unclear which club Aguero will join at the summer, but is already clear he will not be short of options.

The star forward has already been linked with a number of top clubs including Chelsea, Man United and Barcelona.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Wayne Rooney suffered his heaviest defeat as manager as his Derby County side were thrashed 4-0 by Cardiff City on Tuesday, March 2.

The win took Cardiff to the play off places as their revival under new manager Mick McCarthy continues.

Compared to the home side, Derby county completed nearly triple of Cardiff’s passes but could not make a single one count for a goal.
