Ahmed Musa's invitation by Gernot Rohr for Super Eagles AFCON 2021 qualifiers against the Benin Republic and Lesotho has raised dust among pundits and fans at large, Complete Sports.

However, former Nigerian international Etim Esin has backed the German gaffer for recalling the team captain back into his 24-man squad.

The former Lokeren midfielder believes Musa's inclusion will do a lot of good to the team in terms of influence and experience.

“Musa can be a big influence in the team. Maybe he might not play the full 90 minutes but he can add something.
“How many players have scored the number of goals Musa has scored at the World Cup? So, he being in the squad can galvanize them to perform well.”

Another contentious decision made by Rohr was snubbing Gent's Paul Onuachu who is Europe's second-highest league goal scorer with 26 goals.

Esin believes the lanky striker does not suit Rohr's style of play in the national team.

“I think he struggles in the Eagles because if you look at it does he has the players who can feed him they way they feed him in his club?”
” So we need those players who can understand him and release the ball to him so that he can deliver, players who can cross the ball like Finidi, Amuneke because in those days flank was our biggest weapon.”
