Tottenham Hotspurs returned to winning ways in the Premier League following their 2-0 win over West Bromwich Albion.

Spurs got their goals through their hitman Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min to Jose Mourinho's side back in contention for a top-four finish.

The Lily Whites mounted much pressure from the blast of the whistle but could not find a way through West Brom's resolute defence.

Kane had two chances saved by the goalkeeper when Son and Erik Lamela were also denied at the final-third.

The Baggies' real chance in the first period was a header from Mbaye Diagne but was expertly saved on the line by Hugo Lloris.

Tottenham continued from where they left off as Kane's through ball found Son whose left-foot shot was saved by Sam Johnstone.

But the breakthrough finally came in the 54th minute as Pierre-Emile Hoejbjerg's brilliant through ball found Kane who opened up his bod and made no mistake with the finish to make it 1-0.

Two minutes later, Spurs were 2-0 up as a lovely counter-attacking move saw Lucas Moura's pass found Son and the Korean tucked home the ball to make his side sit comfortably on the two-goal cushion.

Diagne scored twice but was spotted in an offside position in the same number of times as Sam Allardyce were beaten at the Tottenham Hotspurs Stadium.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer blatantly stated his side are not in the title race after the Red Devils threw away two points in the 3-3 draw against Everton.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin grabbed the late goal as Everton fought from two goals down to claim an unlikely point at Old Trafford.

The draw leaves Manchester United two points adrift off rivals Manchester City, who have two games in hand.
