Man United suffer major setback after club-record signing picked terrible injury during Everton stalemate

Manchester United record signing Paul Pogba picked up an injury during his side's 3-3 draw against stubborn Everton at Old Trafford earlier this weekend.

The crunch Premier League encounter produced six thrilling goals but neither side could run off with maximum points as they had to share the spoils in the end.

A goal each from Edinson Cavani, Bruno Fernandes, and Scott McTominay could have given the Red Devils the win but Abdoulaye Doucoure, James Rodriguez, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin fought back in the second half to ensure then avoided defeat.

Pogba could only last 39 minutes before he was replaced with Brazilian midfielder Fred for the remainder of the meeting. Solskjaer told Man United website after the match.

”It looks like a muscle injury, thigh, so we’ve just got to check him tomorrow and have a scan and get him treatment. Hopefully, he’ll recover quickly.“

As it stands, it is unsure what the nature of his injury looks like but the manager predicted that it was a thigh problem and prays his influential midfielder returns back to action soon.

The 2018 World Cup winner has made 19 Premier League appearances this campaign with three goals credited to his name. He also has two goals in eight appearances in other competitions.

The 27-year-old has been on top form for United since he returned from an ankle injury he suffered on November 18 - missing just one game before rejoining his teammates four days later.

However, the Frenchman has now ruled out a move away from Old Trafford as he has not committed his future to the club despite having about 18 months left on his current deal with them.

Meanwhile, the likes of Real Madrid and Juventus are yet to give up their chase for him as they hope they can lure him over to their clubs.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Manchester United blew a chance to go level on points with Manchester City after conceding a dramatic late equaliser against Everton at Old Trafford.

Despite going two goals up before halftime, the Red Devils failed to hold on to their lead when action resumed in the second half.

As they allowed Dominic Calvert-Lewin's 95th-minute strike kept them away from leveling with their city rivals Manchester City on the log.
