PSG striker Kylian Mbappe has stated that he is already considering a switch away from the French club saying he is concerned about signing a fresh long-term contract.

The 22-year-old’s contract with the reigning Ligue 1 kings expires in the summer of 2022 with several clubs including Liverpool and Real Madrid already monitoring his situation.

Mbappe has helped PSG to win the Ligue 1 title for three consecutive seasons and he stated that he is however happy at the French capital.

According to him, a contract extension has been offered to him, but he is not yet sure if he should sign a long-term deal at the club.

Mbappe told Telefoot via SunSport:

"We are in discussions with the club to try to find a suitable project.
"I said I was thinking about it because I think that, if I sign it would have to be a long-term commitment to Paris Saint-Germain.
"I am very happy here. I have always been very happy. The supporters and the club have always helped me and for that alone I will always be grateful.
"But, I want to think about what I want to do in the coming years, where I want to be. That's what I am reflecting on."

Kylian Mbappe has been tipped as the next biggest thing in world football after the era of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

The Paris Saint-Germain striker believes it is too late for him to attain the level of Messi because the Argentine spent his whole career in Barcelona.

But the France international claims having played for Monaco and PSG, he can draw inspiration from Ronaldo who has played in Portugal, England, Spain and Italy.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Barcelona captain Lionel Messi was believed to have won the highest number of Ballon d'Or awards after clinching his sixth prize in 2019.

But this appears to be untrue as the organisers of the event have come out to reveal that three-time World Cup winner, Pele, has more.

The Brazil legend was said to have been awarded seven times after re-evaluating the procedure of picking the winner.

According to the report, only European footballers were opened to winning the prize until 1995 - a process deemed unfair.
