Lionel Messi will run out of contract with Barcelona at the end of the ongoing season, with Manchester City, Paris Saint Germain, and a few other clubs interested in his signature.

The 33-year-old was close to leaving the Catalans in the summer with the Etihad Stadium tipped to be his next destination.

However, he made a U-turn after the Premier League outfit was unable to trigger his heavy release clause and his reunion with Pep Guardiola was delayed.

Messi wants a new challenge elsewhere especially now that Barca have not been stable across competitions.

Ronald Koeman's men are sitting eighth on the La Liga table ahead of their midweek encounter against Real Sociedad.

The six-time Ballon d'Or winner is hoping to win his last Champions League and Daily Express quoting OKDiario claims he thinks he could achieve the feat with PSG rather than Guardiola’s side.

With Parisians dominating the French League, Messi believes it will give them the opportunity to focus on winning the European trophy for the first time in the club’s history.

The four-time Champions League winner was said to have told the Blaugrana to bring Neymar back in 2019 but they prioritised Antoine Griezmann's deal.

And with Neymar dreaming of playing alongside his former teammate, the South American might happen next year.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Lionel Messi's future at Barcelona remains uncertain despite the five-time Ballon d'Or winner having less than seven months on his current deal.

The 33-year-old has been linked with a number of clubs - with Manchester City and Inter Milan leading the race for his signature next summer.

However, in spite of his exit rumours, no club has come forward to make any official offer for the Argentine who seems to have been tired of life at Camp Nou.
