Diego Maradona has finally been buried in a private ceremony which took place at Buenos Aires in Argentina with only family members and close friends allowed in.

The family members and close friends who were allowed to attend the burial ceremony were all in tears as the former Napoli and Barcelona star was interred beside next to the grave of his parents.

Diego Maradona's death came as a huge shock to all football people everywhere in the world considering his superb performances on the pitch during his active playing days.

Fans stormed the street when the vehicle carrying Diego Maradona was on its way to the cemetery, but the security prevented them from going near.

Police and the crowds were also said to have had some issues when the coffin was been taken to the cemetery in which rubber bullets were fired.

People of Argentina will not forget Diego Maradona in years to come considering how he helped the nation to win the 1986 World Cup scoring the winner against England.

Maradona was also superb for the likes of Napoli and Spanish side Barcelona when he was playing for them in League games.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how former Super Eagles star and coach Sunday Oliseh stated emphatically that he was shocked when he heard about the death of Argentine football legend Diego Maradona.

Diego Maradona was no doubt a great footballer who was a joy to watch for all fans during his active playing time for clubs and country.

His controversial goal 34 years ago helped Argentina to win the FIFA World Cup beating England and went on to win the final.

And since then, Argentina have been struggling to win the World Cup again with the likes of Lionel Messi and Sergio Aguero not being able to win the title.

Diego Maradona's last professional game was against the Super Eagles of Nigeria at the 1994 World Cup in the USA in which Argentina won 2-1.
