Lionel Messi may not accept a wage cut according to terms in his contract with Barcelona, reports claim.
The club will need to avoid going bankrupt and have an income surplus of €300million before the end of 2020.
Barca are determined to reduce their massive wage bill with Messi being the highest-paid €50m and the world's best-paid.

Interim Barcelona President Carles Tusquets is expected to meet with first team players to discuss a second round of wage cuts which could be rejected by Messi.
La Blaugrana stars initially accept the first reduction under former Preisdent Josep Maria Bartomeu, but there are uncertainties that Messi would accept.

The 33-year-old is in his final year of his contract at the Camp Nou but that does not exclude the Argentine from participating in the exercise.
However, it is understood that Messi's kind of contract refuses him to accept another reduction in his salary while the rest of the squad have accepted.
The club's board have also given the players the option of recovering their lost salaries in the future by working as their ambassadors after retirement.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Ronald Koeman has responded to Quique Sentien's comments about Lionel Messi after the former Barcelona boss said the club captain was difficult to manage.
In a recent radio interview, the Dutch boss dismissed claims that Messi was arrogant but praised the Argentine as being the best player in the world.
Setien was relieved of his duties after Barcelona's dismal performance last season and failing to win a trophy.
Legit.ng also reported that Lionel Messi had a manic three weeks at Catalan club Barcelona during the summer as the Argentine was allegedly told by the then manager, Quique Setien, he could use the door.
Messi and the manager were in deep brawl during the period in the wake of the 8-2 loss in the hands of Bayern Munich as they exit the Champions League last season.
Barcelona captain and teammates were in a row with the manager over his tactics which allowed rivals Real Madrid move ahead to win the La Liga following the Catalan's 2-2 draw with Celta Vigo in June.
