Liverpool in a statement on Monday, September 28, confirmed that goalkeepers Loris Karius as well as partner Kamil Grabara have left the club as they rejig their squad.
The Premier League champions stated that their former number one Karius has joined Bundesliga outfit Union Berlin on a season-long loan where he will link up with their on-loan striker Taiwo Awoniyi.
Karius had spent the previous two years with Besiktas, making 67 appearances for the Turkish club over the course of the loan stay.
The statement reads: "Loris Karius has completed a loan move to Bundesliga side Union Berlin for the duration of the 2020-21 season.
"The Liverpool goalkeeper returns to his homeland and the German top flight, which got under way earlier this month."
The England champions also announced that Kamil Grabara has joined Danish outfit AGF Aarhus on a season-long loan.
Also, Georginio Wijnaldum could still leave the club this transfer window after he was said to have rejected a chance to extend his reign at Anfield.
The 29-year-old midfielder has been heavily linked to join Barcelona after the arrival of Ronald Koeman at the club.
Although his current deal with the Reds will expire in June 2021, he could part ways with the Merseyside outfit before the transfer market closes.
Daily Star quoting Football Insider claims the Dutch midfielder has reportedly turned down a new deal from the Premier League champions.
Liverpool, on the other hand, are not ready to meet the 29-year-old's demands and this could force the Dutchman to leave the club.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Manchester United have reportedly released the sum of £65million up front as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side will make one last attempt to land £90million rated Jadon Sancho to Old Trafford.
The Borussia Dortmund winger had been on the radar of the Red Devils for some time now with reports that the German club is not willing to consider any figure less than £108m valuation for the England winger.
Dailymail are reporting that Manchester United will hope to lure the Bundesliga giants to sell the star for a figure totaling £90million once 'achievable add-ons' are accounted for.
