Victor Osimhen has been tagged the next Didier Drogba, but Super Eagles handler Gernot Rohr has claimed that the Napoli striker is yet to be there.

The 21-year-old striker joined Serie A side in a mouth-watering deal making him the most expensive African player of all time.

The Nigerian international has gone on to score two hat-tricks in two matches for Gennaro Gattuso men and many believe he has arrived at the world stage.

In an interview published by Complete Sports cited from Italian magazine Ilnapolionline, the German gaffer was asked if Osimhen has reached the status of being compared to the Chelsea legend and he said.

“He is not yet like Drogba, he could become one by working hard to enhance his skills. I saw in the Champions League how Napoli plays, Victor will be able to take advantage of the spaces created by his new teammates.

"He is intelligent and prepared, he knows how to adapt to his companions and the game system. Deadly in spaces, he can play as first striker or with a partner. He has physique and speed, excellent left and right and above all great feeling with the goal,” said Rohr.

Rohr, who against Napoli during his spell with French side Bordeaux also stressed that Osimhen joining Napoli will boost the attacking line of the Super Eagles.

”Osimhen is a great player and he is very important for us [the Super Eagles] and he will be even more so thanks to the experience he will be able to have in a top club like Napoli,” Rohr added.

Meanwhile, had earlier reported that Andrew who is the elder brother of Nigerian striker Osimhen has explained that the Napoli man turned down move to Manchester United because of his respect for Odion Ighalo.

Before the cancellation of last season in France, Osimhen had already netted 18 goals for Lille and also created six assists in all competitions.
